Our village is located to the west of Hesbaye.

 

It is a natural region in Central Belgium, situated north of the river Meuse.

Hesbaye is characterised by a temperate climate, a varied landscape, a lack of forest massifs and a high density of urban areas as well as by its very silty soil, which is used to produce sugar beet and cereals.

 

Hesbaye is known as “the bread basket of Belgium” and flax production has been recently introduced into the region.

 

A typical example of its landscape is undulating countryside featuring small valleys, scattered villages and unenclosed plots of land.

 

Not far from the house, some wind turbines have also become an integral part of the landscape.
